SCION Auto Reconfiguration Systems (ARS)

Scion - Ralway Signal Power Supply Auto Reconfiguration System (ARS).

Scion will provide Network Rail with the ability to significantly reduce the length of train delays due to cable failures & cable thefts. 

Achieving this goal will provide major operational and cost benefits.

SCION Mainline avoids the need for a telemetry system between ARS trackside units in the trackside Functional Supply Points (FSP's) thereby reducing installation costs of the ARS system.

SCION Express uses the same SCION electronic units as SCION Mainlne, but with telemetry between the FSP's and the Principal Supply Points (PSP's).  This increases the speed of the restoration of power to the signalling system, where very high delay costs justify the increased installation costs of the telemery systems.
