Energy from Waste Overhaul

B&F complete full turnkey overhaul of crucial Energy from Waste plant

The B&F Service Department have recently carried out a full overhaul and 5-year service of a Low Voltage switchboard for an energy from waste provide in Lincoln.

The works included B&F’s full intrusive servicing of the main incomer circuit breakers all the way through to the drive compartments for all the plants equipment.

Due to the intrusive nature of these works, they had to be completed mid-week and over the weekend to ensure the plant operated in island mode whilst the servicing works continued.

During the project, the team identified the need to manufacture and supply replacement & spare CUBIC based drive compartments, this was to ensure the client had redundancy built into the plant for future works/outages.

The client, who have additionally purchased a spares provision for all plant electrical operations and maintenance package from B&F including Out of Hours emergency callouts commented…

‘Baldwin & Francis completed a full inspection & testing of the LV switchgear. Numerous faults were encountered during the inspections, the faults were rectified in professional and timely manner, in the initial time allowed. A redesign of a switch was required at a previous inspection and this was completed to a very high standard. The team are professional, knowledgeable and very helpful.’

Throughout the project, the team worked closely with the clients existing maintenance staff for plant outage planning. With B&F staff trained to CCNSG supervisor level, they were able to raise permits to work and manage local work areas to assist in completing the service project in a timely, safe and professional manner.
