Baldwin & Francis Ltd acquires the Igranic assets and Intellectual Property rights from the Automated Technology Group Ltd.

Baldwin and Francis Ltd who provide integrated power solutions, offering a wide range of high-quality products and services worldwide have acquired the Igranic control systems assets and intellectual property rights from the Automated Technology Group Limited (ATG). ATG who are owned by Wood Plc are a global leader in turnkey engineering and automation solutions will close their Power business following a decision to reposition its Autonomous Systems Business in line with Wood’s strategic objectives around portfolio optimisation.

Igranic Control Systems Ltd was established in the early twentieth century and became renowned for its innovative power control and distribution products, it was acquired in 2012 by ATG. The Igranic brand name is synonymous with high quality power solutions and services to a wide range of industries offering in-house design and supply packages from concept through to completion. Following the recent news in 2021 from Wood Plc to close the Power division, Baldwin and Francis stepped in and has announced it has acquired the Igranic business design & manufacturing rights. Lee Hudson, Managing Director of Baldwin and Francis Ltd, is looking forward to the opportunities the acquisition will bring, “The acquisition of Igranic is excellent news and strategically reinforces our commitment to provide high-quality integrated power solutions and services to our customers worldwide. We will continue to support the Igranic customer base and manufacture the Igranic range of products from our factory in Sheffield”. Baldwin and Francis Ltd, founded in 1919 who specialise in the manufacture of electrical switchgear believe Igranic is a perfect fit, “it will bring an exciting new dynamic to the business, offering a wider range of products and services to our customers and enable us to penetrate new sectors with continued emphasis and focus on bespoke integrated power solutions and after sales support.” said Lee Hudson.

Wood remains committed to its clients and will complete all existing projects for the power division, however any new orders and customer support will be passed to Baldwin and Francis to engage directly with the client. The Automated Technology Group Limited will continue other operations and maintain its legal entity as normal.
